Plan and Grow CEO Attends Cultural Event
A journey through culture, Country and connection in the East Kimberley.
Recently, our CEO Nathalie Vauthier had the privilege of attending a truly unforgettable cultural experience in the heart of the East Kimberley—an evening that celebrated Country, connection, and the enduring strength of First Nations culture.
Presented by Waringarri Aboriginal Arts in partnership with Blak Tapas, the event invited guests to embark on a deeply immersive journey, beginning with a warm and traditional Welcome Ceremony led by Miriwoong Elders. This powerful opening set the tone for what would become a heartfelt invitation to connect with the spirit, stories and traditions of the land.
The group gathered at the region’s oldest Aboriginal art centre, where the walls are alive with hand-painted colour, story and meaning. The art spoke not only of personal histories but also of collective identity, Country, and culture.
From the art centre, guests travelled together to a secret On Country location, tucked away in one of the region’s awe-inspiring national parks. As the sun set, the sounds of the didgeridoo filled the air and everyone enjoyed bush foods and native-inspired canapés. Elders and community members shared stories from their childhood that were sung and passed down through generations.
For Nathalie, the experience was more than a cultural event—it was a moment of learning and connection.
“To be welcomed onto Country, to sit with Elders and community, to hear their stories and learn from their knowledge—it was incredibly humbling. These moments stay with you.”
